Festival of Trees is annual celebration of holiday season

From 6 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, the Greater Phoenix Equality Chamber of Commerce will be kicking off the holiday season by hosting the 15th Annual Festival of Trees at the Southwest Center in downtown Phoenix, 1101 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix.
This colorful holiday event — $75 for general admission or $100 for VIP entry — is be emceed by Barbara Seville and will showcase a silent auction with a number of beautifully decorated holiday trees, wreaths, menorahs and other displays.
Holiday musical entertainment performed by the Phoenix Gay Men’s Chorus will accompany complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and various raffles and silent auction items — plus the highly sought after Travel Tree, which comes with the grand prize of a 7-night cruise in the Mediterranean that includes meals, drinks and airfare.
“Our 15th year is going to be off the charts,” said Michele White, the executive director of the Greater Phoenix Equality Chamber of Commerce. “Seeing this event continually grow each year truly shows the strength and support of our community and we’re very much looking forward to celebrating that this holiday season.”
The VIP reception, which is held from 6 to 7 p.m. includes complimentary champagne, hand-passed hors d’eouvres, an array of door prizes, as well as the opportunity to mingle with special guests, including local, state and federal officials.
A portion of all proceeds from the 15th Annual Festival of Trees will benefit Phoenix Gay Men’s Chorus, a premiere performing arts organization that strives to unite, inspire, educate and entertain its diverse audiences, members, allies and supporting partners as well as the GPECC.
