Construction began this week on a new four-story parking garage at the HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center, 10200 N. 92nd St.
The project will add 466 parking spaces which will improve parking for patients and visitors. In the future, a fifth floor could be added bringing that total to 592 spaces, according to HonorHealth officials.
The garage will feature a second-floor bridge connecting directly to the labor and delivery wing with the main entrance still accessible from the ground level.
The project also includes a pedestrian plaza between the garage and the existing medical center. Featuring café-style seating, the space is designed to serve as a gathering area for visitors and a venue for community events.
“The new parking garage is a critical step in ensuring our patients and visitors have a seamless, stress-free experience from the moment they arrive on campus,” says Riana Kielly, vice president and hospital administrator for HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center.
“This parking garage goes beyond solving logistical challenges, it’s about creating an environment where families and patients feel supported, from the parking lot to the patient room. The addition of the pedestrian plaza and gathering spaces further emphasizes our focus on well-being, community and patient experience.”
Completion is expected before the end of the year.
