Artist Relief Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that works to provide financial support to the dancers at Ballet Arizona, is excited to announce the return of its annual Dancers’ Choice fundraiser event on April 1.
For the first time since 2020, Dancers’ Choice will return to Ballet Arizona’s studio theater, Dorrance Theatre, with a silent auction, a performance staged and performed entirely by the dancers of Ballet Arizona, as well as a catered reception, according to a press release.
The Artist Relief Fund was created in 2013 by former Ballet Arizona dancers Kenna Draxton and Joseph Cavanaugh to assist dancers financially during times of injury, personal hardships, and career transitions, the release states.
Since 2013, the Artist Relief Fund has raised over $100,000 for dancer’s school and financial emergencies and has offered the opportunity for young artists to choreograph for a professional company and has presented over 30 world premieres.
“The Artist Relief Fund is an incredible organization that I am proud to be a part of,” said Sasha Vincett, president and director of Artist Relief Fund’s Board.
“It recognizes the needs of my fellow dancers outside of our professional careers and every amount donated works to support dancers at Ballet Arizona as they navigate unexpected and sometimes challenging financial situations. We hope to see you at this year’s Dancers’ Choice and can’t wait for all the evening has in store.”
