Ballet Arizona and Tribal Nations Advisory Council host March 6 event
Staff Reports | Digital Free Press
Ballet Arizona and its Tribal Nations Advisory Council is hosting the Native American Welcome Event at Ballet Arizona 5 p.m. Monday, March 6.
The event strives to bridge the gap between ballet and the Native communities, showing how these two art forms can co-exist in the same space as well as help broaden the awareness of the Hoop dance classes to the greater Phoenix community, according to a press release.
This event features a reception with the Tribal Nations Advisory Council and will be followed by a performance from the Native American Hoop Dance students, professional Hoop Dancer Sky Duncan (Forth Berthold, San Carlos Apache) and the School of Ballet Arizona’s Studio Company.
While the welcome reception is 5 p.m., performances begin 6 p.m. at Ballet Arizona’s Washington Street studios, 2835 E Washington St., Phoenix, AZ 85034.
