Abrazo hospitals across the Valley are recognizing importance of organ and tissue donation with Donate Life flag raising ceremonies. Abrazo Scottsdale Campus raised its flag today with help from the Phoenix Fire Department.
April is National Donate Life Month, a time to honor those who have made life-saving organ and tissue donations.
More than 2,100 men, women and children in Arizona are currently on the waiting list for a lifesaving organ transplant. Just one organ and tissue donor can save and heal up to 50 lives, according to Donor Network of Arizona.
Donor Network representatives also met with Abrazo Scottsdale hospital staff and visitors to talk about becoming part of the Donate Life registry. Arizona residents can register to be an organ donor when they apply for or renew their driver’s license or ID card HERE.
